In the chaotic orbital graveyard of the Kessler Drift, high-velocity metal debris orbits a cracking, fragile moon. Toby Finch, a hyper-agile low-orbit orphan in a worn yellow EVA suit with a red-insulated cracked visor, survives by cutting valuable copper coils alongside his grumpily protective mentor, Mac MacIntyre. During an illegal salvage run inside the massive, hollow Cargo Booster 9, a swarm of bio-mechanical Kessler Swarmers attacks the sector. To escape the ravenous, drill-tipped beasts, Toby is forced to climb inside a rusted military-grade defense Titan and trigger its emergency reboot protocols. The mech reboots, manifesting a crisp, white monochromatic projection of its former pilot, the ruthless Commander Robert. As the swarm attacks the local energy grid, Toby realizes the mech is physically immovable unless he syncs with Robert's digital consciousness. Each percentage of neural sync sends hot-orange copper filaments into Toby's neck, giving him combat reflexes but threatening to rewrite his memories with Robert's cold tactical persona. To execute the automated rail-defense codes and destroy the mother-beast drilling the moon's core, Toby pushes his neural sync to ninety percent, sacrificing his mind to Robert's control. The beast is annihilated and the sector is saved, but the effort permanently burns out the Titan's engines and locks Toby into a partial mental merge as they drift out into deep space.
